Over the next eight weeks we would like to introduce you to the Carlos Martínez “Show Reel”. Each of his eight programs has a new design developed by JoussenKarliczek GmbH in Schorndorf, Germany (https://www.j-k.de/projekte/print/carlos-martinez_2). The agency is also responsable for the hand program that you receive at the actor’s performances in Germany and Switzerland. All eight designs are available as postcards, individually or in a pack. We would love to hear your opinion on this first design as well as on the other seven. And after seeing all of them, maybe you can let us know your favourite. This week we are showcasing the design for Human Rights. A program dedicated to the UN Declaration which celebrates its 70th anniversary on the 10th of December.

The Carlos Martínez DVDs: A souvenir and much more!
Spectators often buy a DVD as a way to take home some of the magic of the show that Carlos Martínez has just performed. But besides the favourite pieces and the extras, the DVD offers an entire range of possibilities for use in schools, learning circles, civic centres, churches and with NGOs.

All the DVDs have commentaries about the mime pieces narrated by the actor in various ways. The commentaries are subtitled in four languages.
The deaf greatly appreciate the art of mime and consequently Carlos Martínez has a loyal following among those who are at home with the language of gesture. This is one of the reasons that he takes great care to subtitle all the extras.

“Since August I’ve been working as a teacher in an integration course for refugees. My job is to teach these young people basic German and socio-cultural skills. I showed my students mime pieces of Carlos Martínez, Bus Stop for example. Language without words. They were excited. Of course, I also did an exercise in German. Special WMO Award for Carlos Martínez
The World Mime Organisation has decided to present the “Special WMO Award for the outstanding contribution to the art of mime” to Spanish mime artist Carlos Martínez.
