The new Vitamimo program marks a milestone in the life of the actor, celebrating 40 years on stage as a professional mime. In the first part Carlos Martínez presents three stories from his shows «Books without Words», «Mirage» and «Time to Celebrate». In the second half of the program Carlos Martínez removes his white mask and speaks! He will entertain us with the same sense of humor and humanity, timing and surprise he brings to his mime.  And for the first time, the audience uses their mobile phones to vote for the pieces to be performed in the second part of the program, making every evening unique. The show premieres on the 05th and 06th of march in the Seelichttheater Wädenswil. 

After representing the piece "Creation" almost a thousand times it is still one of my favorites. Perhaps that is why I have received many requests to publish it on social media. Like so many other artists, mime actor Carlos Martínez was stopped by the pandemic. So he has decided to explore new digital possibilities, because he wants to reach his audience even in these times.

After a first series of 10 YouTube masterclasses with the title “Mimología” (Mimology), many people showed interest in an online mime course. That is why he has agreed to offer a first ZOOM course, in cooperation with the “Haus der Familie” in Nürtingen (Germany).

In this 90-minute beginners' course, he shows what is important in this performing art. It is the combination of feet, hands and facial expressions that can tell a story (Videotrailer). The feet as an expression of a personality, the hands to represent objects, the face for feelings and thoughts.

This course offers the perfect opportunity to get a first impression of the art of mime and to get to know the Carlos Martínez studying technique. The course is suitable for beginners and advanced learners.

Attention: The seminar will be held in English. The number of participants is limited to 30.

Today, 22 March, is World Water Day. Today, when we wash our hands, take a look in the mirror and feel thankful for having water. Today, is also World Mime Day. Today, when we put on gloves, take a look in the mirror and, just for a moment, feel like a mime actor. 22 March, a day to look in the mirror and smile.

The World Mime Organization has contacted those of us dedicated to this art, suggesting that, in one way or another, we play our part by sharing smiles with our worldwide neighborhood in these complex times.
